In mid-June, Dr. Bushnell was voted into the membership of the American Orthopedic Association, an elite orthopedic surgery professional society that focuses on orthopedic leadership. Membership in AOA is by invitation only and involves a rigorous selection process based on the criteria of professional positions held, scholarships, research, and leadership. Dr. Bushnell is one of the few members of AOA in private practice, as most of the society’s members hold positions at major academic institutions. Dr. Bushnell is the only member of AOA in Northwest Georgia, and one of only 36 orthopedic surgeons in the entire state who are members of this society.
