The Georgia Fire of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) are pleased to announce that Brandon D. Bushnell MD of Harbin Clinic will be the team’s medical director for the upcoming 2014 season.
With Harbin Clinic in Rome, GA since 2009, Bushnell earned his undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University before ultimately continuing his education at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA.
While on fellowship at Sports Medicine at Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Denver, CO Brandon was formally an assistant team physician for professional sports clubs such as Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies and the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
He has also published over twenty articles in orthopaedic literature as well as authored several textbook chapters and presented his research at multiple national and international professional meetings.
“We already stay busy working with both the local minor league baseball team the Rome Braves and Berry College,” says Fire medical director Brandon D. Bushnell. “But we are all really excited to get back into professional football and which has definitely brought back some memories of my days with the Broncos. Rome is like most of Georgia, hungry for some football especially here during the summer time and I am sure most the city will welcome the Fire with open arms.”
The Georgia Fire kickoff their inaugural season on Saturday April 5th at 7:30 PM when they host the defending PIFL Champion Alabama Hammers. For ticket details, contact The Rome Forum Civic Center box office at 706-291-5281 or log on to www.georgiafire.us for single game ticket options.
